Can I have a cheat meal?
Short answer first. Full logic in the chapter.
The word "cheat" implies you're breaking rules. You're not cheating — you're making a conscious allocation within your budget.
The Rider's approach:
- There are no "cheat meals." There are meals you plan for.
- If you want pizza on Saturday, factor ~800 kcal into your weekly plan.
- Eat lighter meals earlier in the day. Hit your protein targets. Then enjoy the pizza without guilt.
What destroys people:
Not the planned indulgence — the unplanned spiral. "I already blew it" → The Elephant takes over → 3,000 extra calories → shame → quit for a week.
One meal is never the problem. Abandoning the system is the problem.
