Food StructureChapter 5: Fueling the Engine

How often should I eat?

Short answer first. Full logic in the chapter.

Answer

Eat a protein-anchored meal every 2.5 to 3 hours.

This isn't about "speeding up metabolism." It's about blood sugar stabilization.

If you go 6+ hours without eating while metabolically inflexible, your blood sugar crashes violently. The Elephant interprets this as a famine and drives you straight into a binge.

The 3-hour rhythm creates gentle, rolling waves of energy instead of violent spikes and crashes. Predictability signals safety to your nervous system.

The rule: When the alarm goes off, you don't think. You open the fridge, take out a prepped container, and eat. Routine kills chaos.

Important

This strict rhythm is for Month 1 while your metabolism heals. After 30 days, you can earn Intermittent Fasting (Chapter 11).
