Is coffee okay?
Short answer first. Full logic in the chapter.
Black coffee is fine — and it actually helps fat loss:
- Mobilizes fatty acids (mild lipolysis boost)
- Increases NEAT and alertness
- Suppresses appetite temporarily
But watch out:
- A latte with sugar can be 300+ kcal — that's a meal's worth
- Caffeine after 2 PM fragments sleep → cortisol → water retention → missed progress
- Pre-workout stimulants can mask fatigue that your body needs you to feel
Protocol: Black coffee or plain green tea. No sugar. If you need milk, count the calories. Stop all caffeine by 2 PM to protect sleep.
