TroubleshootingChapter 10: Troubleshooting

What is The Kindling Effect?

Short answer first. Full logic in the chapter.

Answer

The Kindling Effect is when one spark of sugar triggers a chain reaction.

The sequence:

One massive sugar hit → violent insulin spike → violent blood sugar crash → The Elephant wakes up demanding MORE sugar → repeat → multi-day binge

If you don't kill the spark immediately, it turns into a three-day fire that burns the house down.

How to kill the spark:

  • 1. Stop the autopsy — no guilt spiral. The event happened.
  • 2. No compensation — don't starve yourself or run for 2 hours tomorrow
  • 3. Eat a Protein Anchor immediately — within 60 minutes, eat a heavy protein + fiber meal
  • 4. Resume the rhythm — eat your next planned meal exactly on time

Protein physically stretches your stomach, chemically shuts down hunger signals, and forces blood sugar to flatline. You put The Elephant back to sleep.
