TroubleshootingChapter 10: Troubleshooting

Why won't my belly fat go away?

Short answer first. Full logic in the chapter.

Answer

Belly fat (and hips, thighs, lower back) is stubborn fat — and there's a biological reason it goes last.

Alpha vs. Beta Receptors:

  • Beta receptors = "release" switches. Easy-access fat areas (face, arms) have lots of these.
  • Alpha receptors = "lock" switches. Stubborn areas (belly, hips) have 6-9x MORE alpha receptors.

Your body empties the easy stores first. Stubborn fat areas are literally the last to go. There is no way to target-burn them — spot reduction is a myth.

The only fix: Keep doing exactly what you're doing. Maintain the deficit. Trust the weekly average. When the easy stores are depleted, your body HAS to reach into the stubborn areas.

This is where most people quit — they've lost 80% of the fat but get frustrated that the last 20% is slow. That's not failure. That's biology doing exactly what it should.
